Collaborating with area districts to identify students (birth - 21) with significant visual impairments in order to address the educational needs of the student.
Services by Teacher of the Blind/Visually Impaired:
Obtaining and reviewing medical eye reports
Assessment
Provide direct/indirect service
Assist the team to ensure the learning environments are accessible
Refer students to a certified orientation and mobility specialist as needs arise
Educating the team about the student's needs
Attend vision appointments when requested
Refer transition age student (14 +) to State Services for the Blind
