The Behavior Intervention Team (BIT) provides a proactive and systematic approach to address student behavior concerns. Members of the behavior intervention team assist school teams in developing appropriate interventions to meet the behavioral, social, and emotional needs for students requiring intensive support in these areas.
Services provided by Behavior Interventionists can include, but are not limited to:
Student specific behavior needs which may include observations across settings, behavior plan revisions, modeling and coaching teams through various behavior strategies and responses, etc.
Assistance in developing and completing Functional Behavior Assessments and/or Behavior Support Plans.
Behavior support plan fidelity checks and intervention monitoring.
Consultation and collaboration with school teams to help determine appropriate accommodations and modifications specific to behavior needs.
