School Psychologist

Description:

School psychologists collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to find the best solution for each student and situation. We use different strategies to address student needs and to improve Hiawatha Valley Education District (HVED) schools and districts' support systems. School psychologists work with students individually or in groups and with teachers and parents.

 

Services by School Psychologists:

  • Testing of students for special education services.
  • Consulting with parents and teachers regarding academic or behavioral concerns.
  • Counseling students individually or in groups.
  • Developing behavior charts or strategies for students.
  • Participating in school committees such as MTSS.
